Life changing adventures

"This type of residential is a very effective tool in engaging young people to work as a team. Team-work is the key to success on the voyage because without it the boat would not move and the young people would not be able eat or keep their environment clean.  Sailing forces the young people to work together and take responsibility for their own action". Excelsior has the dual function of offering sail training and is also an active museum ship.  She is fully restored and offers all 'mod cons'.  No sailing experience is necessary although everyone is expected to assist the crew in working the ship.  The aim of a voyage, is to encourage the development of personal and social skills, but all trips are tailored to meet the specific needs of the group.  Time on board can count towards the RYA StartYachting or Competent Crew certificates.
